Locals call it the best restaurant in town. Try it yourself! Mathilde
has a lot to offer: delicious cakes and coffee (cappuccino) but it's also
a perfect spot to have dinner. Try the Swiss cheese fondue or the 'filete
de marisco'. On Saturday they have a dazzling buffet and early birds should
have breakfast at Mathilde: fresh orange juice and self-made bread, cinnamon
rolls with raisons and nuts. Don't miss the 'pain aux chocolat'.

La Destileria
Upscale Mexican. This restaurant has the ambiance of an old tequila destileria.
The walls are stylish decorated and tells you the history of tequila.
La Destileria features a museum with hundreds of varieties of tequilas
and several ways to drink them. Specialties: start with the seafruit salad
with mango sauce on a bed of greens. Main dish: beef filet in a achotte
tequila sauce and three colored rice. Don't use your common sense while
choosing your dessert. Just order 'chocolate suicide'.

Blue Bayo
Cajun, Creole and international plates in a marvelous Louisiana style
garden setting. Very exotic atmosphere with live jazz music. The crawfish
is flown in daily from Louisiana, and the Maya blackened Seafood Platter
is the best of both worlds. Dessert: try the selection of mousses with
raspberry and mango sauce.

Ruth's Chris Steakhouse

La Habichuela is an upscale
local favorite with superb food, a lovely garden, and wonderful service.
The governor eats here when he is in town. Lunch hour dress is not fancy,
but be respectful of local custom and don't wear your shorts and bathing
